St Peter and St Paul’s church sits right in the centre of the village with its sturdy tower dominating the Market Place. It has done so for almost 800 years. Its bells mark out the hours and its interior space hosts a wide range of community activities in addition to its religious functions.
The cost of maintaining this magnificent listed building lies far beyond the means of the church’s congregation, a fraction of the civil parish’s 2,300 population.
Recognising the building’s function within the community at large and an accompanying responsibility for its care, the Friends of Deddington Church was set up to raise funds for helping preserve the building and its grounds for future generations.
