Community Events
Over the years, this light airy space, with its up-to-date kitchen, has hosted a wide range of events from the weekly fundraising coffee morning for Katharine House Hospice, the Deddington Brass Band’s practice sessions and Girl Guides’ meetings, to the Adderbury, Deddington & District Photographic Society’s tri-annual exhibitions, and the craft fair on farmers’ market day and, of course, the annual parish show. During the winter of the Covid pandemic it provided a warm room space.
Its excellent acoustics make it a much sought after concert venue, especially favoured by choral groups, regularly including the Chipping Norton and Cherwell Choral Societies. The Music in Adderbury concert series presents a number of its chamber music programs here and used the church as a recording studio during Covid. Another regular visitor is the Banbury Symphony Orchestra. The primary school’s concerts take place here, as do a variety of other events from recorder and lieder recitals to musical theatre productions and local folk artist, Dolly Mavies’, annual Christmas concert.
Over recent years almost 50 organisations have used the space, the largest interior space in the parish, evidence of its value to the community.
